Kellen Hubbard, our Resident Artist at Creative Recovery LA, guides clients to heal and express themselves through the transformative power of art. Born in 1993 in a small Arizona town, Kellen’s lifelong passion for creating has been a source of joy and purpose. His art, showcased throughout our facility, reflects his deep connection to desert landscapes, Native tribal influences, and mid-century modern and wabi-sabi aesthetics, inspired by his family’s legacy in interior design and his grandfather’s work as an archaeologist of Arizona’s Native tribes.
Kellen holds a Bachelor’s degree in Health Education and Health Promotion from Arizona State University, where his senior thesis explored eating disorders—a topic close to his heart due to personal experiences with loved ones. While art was always an inherent part of his life, it became his true calling after transitioning from crafting custom furniture to creating evocative wall pieces. For Kellen, art is more than creation—it’s a lifeline that helped him navigate dark times and find meaning.
At Creative Recovery LA, Kellen works directly with clients, teaching them to channel emotions and foster healing through artistic expression. His classes create a safe, supportive space for clients to discover their creativity, whether they’re seasoned artists or picking up a brush for the first time. Through his guidance, clients find purpose and resilience, using art as a tool for recovery. Kellen’s mission is to share the life-changing benefits of creating, inspiring others to embrace their own artistic journeys.
