Chief Clinical Officer
Dr. Malasri “Mala” Chaudhery-Malgeri
Dr. Malasri “Mala” Chaudhery-Malgeri is a psychologist, executive leader, strategist, educator, professor, and speaker with more than 25 years of experience helping individuals, families, organizations, and communities move through complexity toward meaningful, measurable, and sustainable change. Her work sits at the intersection of behavioral health, recovery, trauma, human performance, organizational systems, creativity, and culture.
Her expertise spans PTSD, traumatic brain injury, military psychology, rehabilitation, family and relationship systems, recovery, organizational psychology, outcomes-informed care, integrated program development, and behavior change. Throughout her career, Dr. Mala has worked with a wide range of populations, including active-duty military members and veterans, executives and business leaders, political figures, athletes, LGBTQ+ communities, racial and ethnic minority populations, Native and Indigenous communities, rural and frontier populations, couples, families, and other communities that have historically faced barriers to access, equity, safety, and belonging.
A passionate advocate for recovery literacy, outcomes-informed care, equity, and inclusive treatment, Dr. Mala is deeply interested in a central question: How do we know people are actually getting better? Her work bridges measurable outcomes and the human story behind the data, helping organizations and communities better understand what recovery means, how healing happens, and which environments enable people to thrive. She believes recovery is about more than symptom reduction or abstinence alone—it is also about identity, purpose, agency, connection, belonging, and the ability to build a meaningful life.
Dr. Mala currently serves as Chief Clinical Officer of Creative Recovery LA, where she helps shape an individualized, whole-person approach to behavioral health care that integrates clinical rigor with creativity, connection, movement, mindfulness, storytelling, and community. She is also the Founder and CEO of The Synergy Center, a Board Member of the SHE RECOVERS Foundation, and an Advisory Council Member for Recovery.com.
Drawing from both Western psychology and Eastern philosophy, Dr. Mala’s work is grounded in a simple belief: people do not change in isolation. They become within relationships, communities, cultures, and systems.
